Decorating a Puppy Theme Nursery

A puppy theme nursery can be gender neutral but it probably works best for a baby boy. Decorating a nursery with puppies and dogs can make a very sweet baby’s room. Find a nice puppy nursery bedding set. You could also use a Snoopy themed bedding set.

There are a lot of different ways that you could prepare the walls in a puppy themed nursery. A soft brown color would work well for a puppy room. Another idea is to paint the walls white and then paint black spots all over them to make them resemble a dalmatian.

You could also apply a wallpaper or wall border with puppies or dogs on it to the walls. A wall mural with puppies, dogs, a dog house, bones, a fire hydrant, and other objects related to dogs on it is also an idea.

Take into consideration the nursery bedding you have chosen when deciding how to prepare your walls. Whatever you decide to do with the walls in your puppy theme nursery should compliment the bedding and décor that you plan to use in the room.

Furniture in the room can also be planned to carry out the room's theme. Build or purchase a toy box that resembles a dog house. You could also purchase a regular toy box and apply puppy decals or paint puppies on it. You could decorate the crib and dresser this way if you wanted to. You could also dress up the dresser by replacing it’s knobs with puppy knobs.

Decorating ideas for a puppy theme nursery could include buying puppy or dog art work or wall hangings. You could also purchase several stuffed dogs and line a shelf with them or fill a stuffed animal net with them. Find other dog themed items such as a puppy crib mobile, puppy coat rack personalized with your baby‘s name, and puppy lamps and nightlights. A personalized puppy plate would also make a cute piece of art work for your baby’s room.

You could finish off decorating the room by adding touches like a puppy rug and a new ceiling fixture (with a puppy theme if you want) to the room. You could also add some décor that is not puppy related such as spelling out your baby’s name on the wall with letters and hanging a belly cast. Don’t feel you have to be committed to only using puppy items in your room, adding a few other items will give the room a good balance.
