Decorating Ideas for a Farm Nursery Theme

  • If you want to create your own artwork for your farm nursery, visit a local farm and take pictures of the various animals, barns, and farm equipment. Once you develop or print the pictures, matte and frame them.

  • A calendar featuring farm animals may also be used to create inexpensive artwork for the room. Just frame each individual picture and you have 12 pieces of artwork for your room for the cost of the calendar and frames. You might be able to find inexpensive frames at a dollar or craft store.

  • Stuffed Farm Animals are another way to decorate a farm themed nursery. The animals can be arranged on a shelf, bookcase, or animal net or if you have a barn toy box in the room, you can arrange the animals around the “barn”.

  • A farm mural can be painted on one or more of the nursery walls. The scene could include a giant barn, tractors and other farm equipment, fields of crops, and farm animals such as roosters, cows, horses, goats, pigs, and sheep.

  • Give your dresser, changing table, bookcases, and other pieces of nursery furniture a farm flair by stenciling farm animals, barns, and tractors on them. If you don’t want to paint the furniture, look for farm decals to use instead.
